Mini Boards Reviews for the National + Local Anesthesia + CSCE Dental Hygiene Boards Exams
- The mode is the value that is most frequently observed. In this case, 85 is observed 3 times.
- The median is the number that separates the data into two halves. (If there are two middle numbers, get their average). In this case, the median is also 85.
- The mean is the average (add all values then divide the sum by the total number of data). In this case, the mean is 89.
Tips: “MO” in MOde, “MO” in MOst frequently. Also, see the image we have created to make the subject of community health and research principles. The mode in the image is the elephant because it is the animal that appears the most! I hope this helps you remember the concept of MODE once and for all!
Answer: (C.) 85
There are many more concepts to master in community oral health and research principles. They are available at StudentRDH Dental Hygiene Board Exam (NBDHE, NDHCE) review. The students are generally surprised to see how a large amount of questions on this chapter in the dental hygiene board exams. It makes sense when we look at the big picture in our field of dental hygiene, as now, community health is a growing field.
Also, there are no completely right or wrong answers when it comes to community oral health (unless it is obvious). Therefore, I advise all my students to keep an open mind when reading the question and to focus on finding the BEST answer. All the choices may be correct to some degree, but which one makes the MOST sense? If we do not tackle this chapter on community oral health with an open mind, we will become frustrated very easily. Now make sure to spend enough time on this chapter while studying for your school exams and dental hygiene board exams (NBDHE, NDHCE). Some concepts may be difficult to understand.
